Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Plastics Injection Molding Process Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and optimizing injection molding processes to ensure consistent product quality, efficient cycle times, and minimal downtime. The technician will work closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to troubleshoot molding issues, implement process improvements, and support new tool startups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily quality checks and make adjustments as needed.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose molding and secondary equipment issues, performing repairs when possible, such as replacing sensors, swapping interchangeable components, and servicing water units.
- Good understanding of injection molding machines, robotics, conveyors, dryers, grinders, and auxiliary equipment.
- Conduct mold changes and assist with mold setup when required.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Recommend improvements to increase machine reliability, reduce downtime, and optimize efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in injection process experience.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends or on-call support as needed.
Preferred Attributes:
- Previous experience in a plastics manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and preventive maintenance programs.
